While using the iPad, we noticed it would be very convenient to be able to place the iPad on different angles,
without having to hold it.
Because we are designers we couldn’t resist making a stand ourselves.
This is what we came up with;
Our iPad stand is an adjustable wooden stand which you can use at your desk, in the kitchen, on the couch, etc.
It can pop-up into a versatile tablet stand that supports both portrait and landscape viewing modes on 3 different angles.
Tiny magnets make sure the stand stays nicely folded when you transport it in your suitcase or bag.

Why would only humans make use of eco-friendly technology? OOOMS designed a birdhouse with a solar panel on it’s roof. During the day sunlight feeds the solar panel, charging a small battery inside. At twilight the transparent stick will light up and cast a tiny light on your garden. This light attracts an easy night time snack for the bird; all she has to do is stick her beak out of the hole and wait for the buzz.

OOOMS used this as inspiration to create a vase with a ribbed surface which creates two different shapes.
The outside shape is based on a Greek Amphora vase. The inner shape is inspired by an brass Indian flower vase.
The Schizo vase is made out of cork, with a transparent finish that makes the vase durable and the inside waterproof.

The inner shape is a classic lampshade. The outside is more neutral, and looks a bit like a beehive.
When turned on, the inner shape of the Schizolamp will be emphasized due to the translucency of the material.
The Schizolamp is made out of EPS, a material which makes the design very light weighted.
A transparent finish makes the lamp durable and easy to clean, while maintaining its natural colour.

Commissioned by De Hub, and in cooperation with TNO, Studio OOOMS is working on a product manufactured by Rapid Manufacturing.
The design is based on the idea that using RM is still a relatively expensive technique. Inspired by a ordinary paper party banner, OOOMS designed a structure which is made in one small piece. When you stretch the structure it will increase in size. The result became a beautiful, stretchable necklace, looking like lace. This product was shown during the Dutch Design Week 2008, together with the results of other participating designers.

‘Rocker’ is an universal attachment to turn almost any four-legged chair into a real rocking chair. Depending on the chair of your choice, you can get any kind of rocking chair; from very relaxed to a more active one. This project is the result of the Designboom rocking chair contest, where a premature version of the Rocker became 12th out of more than a thousand contestants.

The digital world often forces trade-offs between two opposing preferences: speed and quality. When working with images, speed often translates to lower resolution, compressing elements to simplified shapes. During this process, it is the computer, compelled by necessity, that makes the decisions about what is taken out and what is left. If we apply this logic to existing products, like here to the sideview of an Eames chair, we see that certain aspects of the product come to the front, while others recede.

The Wire-frame collection came into existence because of a great fascination of the wire-frame structures in the 3D modelling phase of the design process. This chair is designed by computer using 3D software and after that its handmade in real steel wire.

How come artificial plants don’t bloom?
OOOMS designed a series of artificial plants which don’t look real, but they really bloom!
Just spray water on the surface of the Green Lettuce and within minutes the little leaves will gently unfold.
When you treat the Red Coral with some water it will release its arms and grow three times its size.
The Gum Tree needs special care every day. Pour water in the pot and within 7 days the leaves will unfold,
showing us the bright colours within.
