The digital world often forces trade-offs between two opposing preferences: speed and quality. When working with images, speed often translates to lower resolution, compressing elements to simplified shapes. During this process, it is the computer, compelled by necessity, that makes the decisions about what is taken out and what is left. If we apply this logic to existing products, like here to the side view of an Eames chair, we see that certain aspects of the product come to the front, while others recede.
